Parking Dispute in Bhopal Escalates to Communal Tension, Allegations of Assault

A minor parking dispute in Bhopal's Kalpana Nagar has reportedly spiraled into communal tension. A female student, Purnima Dubey, shared a video alleging that she and her friends were assaulted by Muslim youths over a parking issue. She claims the altercation began when her friend attempted to park near a madrasa. According to Dubey, individuals in an auto-rickshaw objected and demanded money, leading to a larger group of locals, including women, being summoned. Dubey alleges that her friends were beaten with rods and belts, and she was also physically assaulted and had her hair pulled. She also claims a slogan related to 'sacrifice' was raised. Police were called, and after medical examinations confirmed injuries, a case was registered against the youths. While the victim expressed fear, some local Muslim residents stated it was a parking dispute that escalated, and labeling it a Hindu-Muslim issue is incorrect. Police have detained the accused.
