Delhi-Jaipur Highway to Implement Barrier-Free Toll Collection System
The Delhi-Jaipur National Highway is set to introduce a Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) system, allowing vehicles to pass through toll plazas without stopping. This new arrangement, expected to be operational by April 1, will utilize high-speed cameras to scan number plates and FASTags, automatically deducting toll fees from linked accounts. Work is progressing rapidly at the Shahjahanpur, Manoharpur, and Daulatpur toll plazas, with Shahjahanpur and Manoharpur nearly complete. This initiative aims to save time, reduce fuel consumption, and eliminate traffic congestion and disputes caused by long queues at toll booths. The system will also implement automatic challans for traffic violations detected by the new cameras. This MLFF implementation is part of a larger national plan to remove barriers at over 1100 toll plazas across 10 major highways.
