Delhi-Dehradun Expressway Nears Completion, Travel Time to Halve
The 210 km Delhi-Dehradun Greenfield Expressway, built at a cost of approximately ₹11,970 crore, is in its final stages of construction. Upon opening, it will reduce the travel time between Delhi and Dehradun from 6-7 hours to about 2.5 hours. The modern, six-lane expressway features elevated sections, advanced safety measures for wildlife, and amenities such as charging stations for electric vehicles every 30 km. Special arrangements, including sound barriers and animal-friendly lighting, have been implemented in wildlife-sensitive areas like the Shivalik range and Raja Ji National Park. The expressway connects Delhi to Dehradun via Baghpat, Muzaffarnagar, and Saharanpur, with a direct link to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway near Baghpat.
