J&K Encounter Injures Eight Army Personnel
Eight Indian Army personnel were injured, mostly by grenade splinters, during a multi-hour encounter with suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists in the dense forest areas of Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday. The operation, codenamed 'Operation Trashi-I', involved a joint team of the Army and J&K Police after intelligence on the presence of 2-3 foreign terrorists. Security forces have intensified the search operation using drones and sniffer dogs, deploying additional troops in the challenging terrain, and maintaining high alert ahead of Republic Day. This marks the third such encounter in the Jammu region this year.
