A 70-year-old retired Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), Karamjit Singh Sandhu, reportedly died by suicide at his home in Phagwara, Punjab, on Sunday. Police confirmed that Sandhu used his licensed revolver in the Guru Nanakpura area incident. Initial investigations suggest he was under significant mental stress due to an ongoing legal dispute. Sandhu was an active community member, serving as the president of the Guru Nanak Welfare Society and a Punjabi writer. Authorities have commenced an investigation and sent the body to the civil hospital for post-mortem examination.
