Delhi Police Arrests Driver for Reckless Driving on NH-48

Delhi Police has arrested Dawood Ansari for dangerously driving a Scorpio-N in a zig-zag manner on NH-48. A case was registered at Samaypur Badli police station after a video of the reckless driving went viral on social media. The incident, which occurred on January 18, 2026, between 3 to 4 PM, saw the black Scorpio-N with tinted windows and 'Dawood' written on it posing a significant risk to other road users. The vehicle was traced and intercepted by the Outer North district police. The driver was identified as Dawood Ansari of Jaibir Nagar, Okhla. The vehicle is registered to his father. Ansari's driving license has been seized, and an FIR has been filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicles Act. The car has been impounded, and further investigation is ongoing.
