Cannibalism Suspect Arrested in Cooch Behar Murder Case
A horrific murder with alleged cannibalistic intent has emerged from Cooch Behar, West Bengal, drawing chilling comparisons to the infamous Nithari killings. An elderly homeless man was reportedly killed four days ago by Ferdous Alam, who has since confessed to the crime, stating his intention to consume human flesh. A key witness, Malika Khatun, discovered Alam washing the victim's body under a tap near his residence, which caused widespread panic in the locality. Police investigations revealed that Alam allegedly attacked the victim with a knife near a paddy field, slit his throat, and then transported the body to his home. He later attempted to destroy evidence by burning his blood-stained clothes and disposing of the weapon in a pond. Alam, who has a history of depression, cannabis addiction, and deteriorating mental health after losing his parents, was arrested following the discovery of the body by a farmer and has admitted to the gruesome motive.
