Delhi High Court Issues Notice to CBI on Rabri Devi's Plea Against Corruption Charges
The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the CBI regarding a petition challenging the framing of charges against former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi in the IRCTC scam. A single-judge bench of Justice Swaran Kanta Sharma has sought a response from the CBI on the issues raised in the petition. Previously, on October 13 last year, the Rouse Avenue Court had framed charges of corruption and criminal conspiracy against Lalu Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, and son Tejashwi Yadav under IPC sections 428, 120B, and Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Lalu Yadav has also challenged these charges in the High Court. The CBI's chargesheet names Lalu Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, Rabri Devi, and others as accused in connection with alleged corruption in the tender of two IRCTC hotels in Ranchi and Puri. The scam pertains to allegations that Lalu Yadav, as Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009, received land and property transfers in the names of his family members in exchange for offering Group 'D' jobs in various railway zones.
