BJP-led Mahayuti Leads Maharashtra Civic Body Polls

The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance is significantly ahead in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and 29 other civic body elections across Maharashtra. Out of 227 BMC seats, the Mahayuti is leading in 118, while the opposition alliance is ahead in 67. Individual party tallies show BJP leading with 79 seats, Shiv Sena (UBT) with 60, the Shinde faction with 25, Congress with 19, MIM with 7, and MNS with 5, with MNS having secured 6 victories. Senior leaders, including Union Minister Amit Shah and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, congratulated the alliance, attributing the success to Prime Minister Modi's development agenda and public support. BJP leader Prakash Javadekar expressed confidence that the results affirm public trust in PM Modi and predicted the party's continued power for decades.
