In Purnanagar of Koderma district, the fireplace lit in the room to escape the cold became the cause of death of the couple. Salon operator Virendra Sharma and his wife Kanti Devi kept the stove in the room at night and slept after closing the door. Both were found dead in the morning. Police are investigating the matter by sending the body for post-mortem. In Purnanagar of Koderma district of Jharkhand, lighting a fireplace in their room to escape the cold proved fatal for a couple. Husband and wife died a painful death due to suffocation. There is an atmosphere of mourning in the area after the incident. The police have taken both the bodies into their custody and sent them for post-mortem. The deceased have been identified as salon operator Virendra Sharma and his wife Kanti Devi. According to family members, both of them were present at home at night as usual and no unusual thing was seen. : Jharkhand: The city bus going from Hazaribagh to Koderma overturned on the highway, the driver jumped to save his life and took him to the fireplace room at night. Family members told that Virendra Sharma and Kanti Devi had cooked food on the wood-coal stove at night. Due to extreme cold, they took the same burning stove inside the room. After this, both of them slept after closing the door of the room from inside. At around 11:30 pm, all the family members went to sleep. Till that time no one had any apprehension of any untoward incident. Everything seemed normal at home. The door opened in the morning, a painful scene was seen. In the morning, when the daughter-in-law opened the door of the room after it was not opened for a long time, she got scared after seeing the scene inside. Both Virendra Sharma and Kanti Devi were lying in an unconscious state. The family members immediately took them to Sadar Hospital. After examination, the doctors in the hospital declared both of them dead. According to preliminary information, both of them died due to suffocation due to poisonous gas coming out from the fireplace burning in the room. On receiving information about the dead body which was sent for post-mortem, the police reached the spot and took necessary action. Police have sent both the bodies for post-mortem. Surendra Sharma, son of the deceased, told that everything was fine at night and suddenly this incident came to light in the morning. At present the police is investigating the matter and the post mortem report is awaited.
